Before and After Photos
The modern liposuction procedure dates to the mid-1970s when two Italian doctors Arpad and Giorgio Fischer, a father and son team, improved the procedure’s past techniques. Instead of using a curette for the entire process, they were the first to develop a suction device that allowed for better results and less complications in the upper thighs. Since then, the procedure has been perfected to offer a more comfortable and predictable process that is now performed routinely to help people achieve a look that serves them. Known colloquially as lipo, the minimally invasive surgical process trims down and reshapes designated areas of the body by removing fat deposits and improving symmetry and body contours.
What Areas Can be Treated with Liposuction?
- Bra rolls

Start the process and schedule an appointment with us today! Make an appointment online or call (626) 810-6165. Feel free to read our blog while you wait. We offer tons of helpful information about other procedures we offer.
We understand each patient is different, so your instructions may look different. However, below is a general guideline patients should follow. We recommend taking care of:
- Smoking: Refrain from consuming tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, as they may constrict blood and hamper recovery.
- Transportation: You may not drive after surgery, so pick someone to drive you home.
- Medications: Temporarily discontinue specific medicines that may interfere with your surgery.
- Prescriptions: Pick up medications from Dr. Lin before surgery
- Work: Have a talk with your employer and schedule 1-2 weeks off from work.
Patients undergoing liposuction surgery will be administered intravenous (IV) sedation anesthesia or general anesthesia by our board-certified and highly experienced anesthesiologist. For patients treating small areas, they may only need local anesthesia to ensure their comfort. Dr. Lin will begin by making a small (1-3 mm) incision in the area(s) of concern. Then, tumescent fluid, a mixture of lidocaine, epinephrine, and saline, will be injected to minimize pain and reduce bleeding. After the injection, Dr. Lin will insert a cannula under the skin to meticulously suction out the fatty tissue from the body. The process is repeated in each treatment area. Once complete, incisions are sutured closed, and compression bandages are applied to protect results. Depending on the places you’re refining, your treatment can last up to 3-4 hours.
The recovery stage begins the moment your procedure concludes. Take it easy as the effects of anesthesia gently wear off. Afterwards, you’ll be able to offset any symptoms of bruising, tenderness, and discoloration with the medication prescribed by Dr. Lin. You should see these symptoms dissolve within two weeks. During your recovery, you’ll be instructed to wear a compression garment around the treated areas to maintain results. Within two weeks, you’ll be free to resume light activities, including desk work. Physically demanding activities should not restart until the fifth week of recovery. By week six, you should be fully recovered.
You may see a glimpse of your results immediately after surgery. And, after your postoperative symptoms diminish, you’ll start to see better definition in the areas of treatment. A successful recovery will ensure optimized results in the weeks ahead. You will see complementary contours, a sleeker silhouette, and a firmer figure when this happens. Your results can be safeguarded by maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Corresponding & Complementary Procedures
We are here to help you achieve the best look for you. That is why we offer plenty of options to choose from. Those interested in liposuction may also stand to benefit from these excellent choices.
A SmartLipo procedure is a minimally invasive form of liposuction. SmartLipo uses laser energy to precisely sculpt away fat while also promoting skin retraction. This technology eliminates fat cells gently, causing less trauma to blood vessels, tissues, and nerves.
A tummy tuck is a highly customized surgical procedure dedicated to crafting a better abdominal profile by removing surplus skin and tissue from the stomach. Depending on your skin’s laxity, Dr. Lin will determine if a traditional, complete abdominoplasty, a partial mini-abdominoplasty, or circumferential abdominoplasty is suitable to your needs. Each approach is unique, but all treatment options offer patients an optimized, symmetrical figure.
Brazilian Butt Lift
Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery is devoted to creating a shapelier, fuller contour to the buttocks. It does this by harvesting fat from other areas you’d like to slim down and injecting it into your bottom. The procedure is safer and creates more convincing results than implants and many other injection treatments.
The details of your personalized plan will determine the final cost of your liposuction procedure. Several factors are considered when determining the cost, such as the number of areas treated and the possible inclusion of other treatments. That is why we discuss this in full detail at your consultation. You can also get an estimated quote by calling (626) 810-6165.
Is liposuction right for me?
Liposuction has helped many patients remove unwanted body fat resistant to diet and exercise. If you are at an ideal weight, in good health, and looking to tone up a few areas, then liposuction can help. Dr. Lin will help you decide which treatments are suitable for you at your consultation.
Are the results from liposuction permanent?
Every patient responds differently to a treatment. Patients will enjoy long-lasting results because fat cells do not grow back after liposuction. However, it will not prevent you from gaining weight. That is why it will benefit you to maintain a healthy lifestyle to extend your results.
