What is a Mini Facelift Surgery?

Mini Facelift | Facelift Surgery | West Covina | San Gabriel Valley CA It is possible to delay the onset of major wrinkles and lines on the face, if an individual opts for certain cosmetic surgery procedures at a very early or preventative stage. One such procedure is a mini facelift, which involves relatively minor surgical corrections to keep the facial skin looking youthful and rejuvenated. People keen to reduce the appearance of facial lines and minor wrinkles on the cheeks, mid face, and beneath the lower eyelids with a less invasive procedure may choose a mini facelift surgery.

Dr. Daniel Lin of Shine Cosmetic Surgery is a dedicated and reputed plastic surgeon providing mini facelift and other procedures to patients in West Covina, Inland Empire, San Gabriel Valley, Chino, Rowland Heights, Baldwin Park, Whittier, Brea, Arcadia, Pasadena, Diamond Bar, and nearby locations.

Who should Choose a Mini Facelift?

A mini facelift cosmetic surgery is more suited for patients with mild to moderate facial signs of aging and a superficial degree of skin laxity on the face. Patients who are keen for a less invasive procedure with negligible scarring, minimal downtime, and reduced surgical risk may consider this procedure.

The procedure is typically performed on patients between the ages of 30 to 45. In some cases, the plastic surgeon may recommend this procedure to be performed in combination with neck liposuction, cheek augmentation or eyelid lift. Patient should have clear aesthetic priorities and realistic expectations from a mini facelift.

With a mini facelift, it is usually possible to avoid the need for general anesthesia, which reduces the risk as well as the cost, and makes post-op recovery easier. As against a full facelift surgery, the recovery in case of a mini facelift is quicker, simpler and less painful. Excess facial fat can be reduced or redistributed with this procedure. It will also allow enhancement of the jaw line, improved definition of the neck, and restoration of the chin angle.

The results are sustainable for a long period of time, and scarring is minimal. Dr. Lin will discuss all potential pros and cons of a mini facelift and a full facelift with his patients in West Covina, Inland Empire, San Gabriel Valley, Chino, Rowland Heights, Baldwin Park, Whittier, Brea, Arcadia, Pasadena, Diamond Bar, and the surrounding communities.

Surgical Procedure

The surgeon will begin the procedure by placing a few minor incisions at inconspicuous locations as per the treatment plan already decided in consultation with the patient. In some cases, the primary area of treatment may be the lower face, while in other cases it may also involve correction of the neck and jowl.

The procedure will be performed using local anesthesia and IV sedation. Incisions may be located in front of the ears or behind, and may continue up to the hairline. Loose skin will be tightened and lift through the incisions, and excess fat may be removed or repositioned. The skin will be smoothened, and the incisions will be closed with sutures.

Most patients can return to normal activities within a week. Minor swelling may remain for a few days. The full effects of a mini facelift will appear gradually as the swelling subsides entirely.
