Endoscopic Brow Lift Procedure Steps

by Dr. Daniel Lin

Endoscopic Brow Lift Procedure Steps | Pasadena | Chino | Baldwin ParkForehead lift and brow lift cosmetic surgery procedure are now usually performed using less invasive short incisions and endoscopic techniques.

The incisions are typically made in the hair-bearing scalp. However, the incisions may also be made in the forehead in some cases.

If the patient requires significant tissue and muscle correction, they may need to undergo the procedure using the open brow lift or long incision brow lift technique.

At the time of the pre-operative consultation, the surgeon will discuss the various steps involved in the brow lift procedure. This will allow the patient to understand more about the procedure and feel more reassured.

Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Daniel Lin provides endoscopic brow lift to patients in West Covina, Inland Empire, San Gabriel Valley, Chino, Rowland Heights, Baldwin Park, Whittier, Brea, Arcadia, Pasadena, Diamond Bar, and surrounding locations in California.

Open Brow Lift

In this procedure, the patient will be given local anesthesia or oral sedation to enable them to remain comfortable during the procedure.

Subsequently, the surgeon will place a long incision across the forehead, either around the hairline or in the crease of the forehead.

They will use this incision to eliminate excess fat and tighten loose muscles. The surgeon will also remove any excess skin and pull the remaining skin taut. They will then use sutures to position the brow in a manner that it appears more youthful.

Endoscopic Brow Lift

After local anesthesia, the surgeon will place tiny incisions in the scalp. Through these incisions, they will insert the endoscope with one end connected to a video camera.

The small camera will allow the surgeon to view the internal forehead structures to perform skin tightening. The incisions made in this procedure are tiny, unlike open brow lift. Therefore, the patient experiences minimal downtime and discomfort.

Limited Incision Brow Lift

This hybrid technique is a blend of elements of both open and endoscopic brow lift procedures. The surgeon will make small incisions to elevate the outer portion of the eyebrows without the use of an endoscope. The temporal hairline will discreetly hide the scars.

While this procedure will not address the center area of the brow, it can reduce fine lines and wrinkles at the eye corners, commonly known as crow’s feet. The patient’s specific facial structure and aesthetic goals will determine the type of brow lift procedure recommended.

Combined Procedures

The steps involved in the forehead lift or brow lift procedure will be slightly modified if the procedure is undertaken along with another cosmetic surgery. In many cases, sagging brows develop along with droopy upper eyelids and excess eyelid skin. To accomplish optimal outcomes, all three of these issues should be treated.

The patient’s personal hairstyle preferences, natural hairline, and unique cosmetic goals will be taken into account while developing an individualized surgical plan. The surgeon will develop a procedure plan that creates minimal scarring while offering excellent and natural looking results.
