Brazilian butt lift is a popular cosmetic surgery procedure among younger people who wish to enhance the appearance of their rear end.
At the time of initial consultation, the surgeon will discuss various aspects of the procedure, including its estimated recovery. Working individuals and busy moms are particularly concerned about the recovery time involved in such surgeries.
Shine Cosmetic Surgery, led by committed, cordial, and board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Daniel Lin, provides Brazilian butt lift to patients in West Covina, Inland Empire, San Gabriel Valley, Chino, Rowland Heights, Baldwin Park, Whittier, Brea, Arcadia, Pasadena, Diamond Bar and surrounding areas in California.
Less Invasive Surgery
One of the reasons behind the popularity of Brazilian butt lift is that the surgery is fairly uncomplicated and less invasive. The surgeon can reshape and lift the buttocks simply by performing fat transfer from areas such as the abdomen or thighs to the buttocks.
With this simple fat transfer cosmetic surgery, the recovery time is likely to be significantly lower as compared to buttock implant surgery or other more invasive procedures.
Most patients will go through a downtime of about five days to a week after a Brazilian butt lift. Within a week, the donor sites as well as the treated area around the buttocks would have healed sufficiently to allow the patient to resume their normal routine or go back to work. But during the first few days, they should have plenty of rest, stay hydrated, and perform short walks and light activities at home to prevent blood clotting.
Patients who are not required to sit all day long at the workplace may return to work from the second week. In the second week, the patient should continue to avoid putting body weight directly on the buttocks to allow for quicker healing. The patient should plan for the recovery in advance, apply for leave from work, and preferably have someone to assist at home during the first two or three days.
After the first two days, the patient can remove the compression garment for gentle washing of the buttocks. At the end of the first week, they should visit the surgeon’s office to review the healing progress and have the sutures and drain tubes removed.
From the second week, the patient can perform routine activities at home or work, but avoid sitting directly on the buttocks, if the healing is taking more time. In about three weeks’ time, the patient can resume activities such as squatting, stretching or more vigorous exercises.
While driving during the second or third week, the patient should sit comfortably on a pillow placed on the car seat. In about two to six months following the Brazilian butt lift surgery, most of the inflammation and discoloration would be eliminated. At that point, the patient should be fully healed.
